Bringing Hope to the Hopeless through Love
United Youth for Development - UYD is faith based and nonprofit organization registered by the Government of Burundi through the Ministry of Interior under the registration number: 530/754 issued on November 28th, 2024. The Founder is Noe Bakuza.
Background
Few years ago,Noe attended a mission and evangelism training of six months in Kenya, one time he had a quiet moment on how he was going to respond to God's calling for his community. He had a calling to found the organization in order to contribute to the wellbeing of his community and become a problems solver both in the church and outside of it as he dreams about the lasting change. From that time the fire of the Holy Spirit burns in him inviting him to surrender and dedicate his life to serve his community and he really is convinced that it's one of the major raisons he was created. The hardships he went through and the calling he has in his heart made him to remember that he owes a debt to his community because he knows there's a lot of people who experience hardships more than he did.
With the guidance and direction from different people that God brought in his life as mentors and friends alongside the skills he got in his educational training in medical fields as a nurse with a bachelor's degree driven by God’s calling in Him. Noe founded UYD to serve and help the community.
We are a family whose mission is to Bring Hope to the Hopeless. We believe that everyone is able to use their given talent to bring change in their communities and lives. We care for the needy, and vulnerable people such as orphans, Widows old people, Drugs addicted people and people affected by the natural disasters.

We are a Christian organization of Youth who want bring change and see God's people lives transformation, in Whatever we do we are led by faith , trusting in God that we will fulfill our mission and reach our vision, feeling overwhelmed by God's love , we reflect love to his people and everyone God entrusted us by being faithful to the one who called us and each other.

In a country like Burundi where there’s a lot of things which take hope and leave people hopeless such as poverty, physical and spiritual hunger, lack of clean water, unemployment, loss, etc.
We exist to restore their Hope through tangible initiatives and respond positively to their needs to make them feel valuable and enjoy life to the fully.
We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who suffer and struggle

In whatever we do we seek a spiritual and physical life transformation; this means that we expect a transformation and change of lives both spiritually and physically.
Throughout his life on earth, Jesus Christ preached the gospel and invited people to salvation, but He didn't end by that He met people’s need by healing them, feeding them and setting them free from any kind of bondage. Our approach and address to people’s need are holistic.

Caring for the Needy
Through this program,we are dedicated to care for the needy in various ways that God can direct us to such as feeding those who are hungry,helping those affected by natural disasters like floodings,landslide , ...
In All we do we are led by God's love knowing that we can be Jesus's hand and foot to those suffering and struggling.

All at School Program
Knowing that Education is a great tool to a sustainable development, through this program we are dedicated to support orphans students and those from poor or underprivileged families are not able to continue their studies due to the lack of school fees and supplies
We provide school supplies and fees to Help them to reach their goal and have a bright future through Education.
We currently have 300 children from 6 villages that we support
With this program we want to make sure every Burundian child has access to education for a brighter future.
Business Management Program
With this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for those in need and help them to think about business.Through the partnership with the experts in Business Management and Projects Launch ,we train people how to Start small businesses using the little amount.We believe that by the skills and empowerment,everyone is able to use their potential in earning money despite their backgrounds or where they were born.
VOCATIONAL AND LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM
We organize trainings for Young people and single mothers in different life skills in order to help them fight against unemployment. One of the major struggle that people mostly youth go through is unemployment. We do all our best to fight this by creating opportunities to young people to learn professions which will help them to earn money and meet their needs.
Some of the trainings we have been doing are: Sewing, barbering, basic knowledge of computer, Business Management. The skills we gave them are to be applied to get out of the poverty.
Hope in Old People
Committed to serve different groups of people ,With this initiative we bring back hope in our old Mothers and Fathers knowing that they need encouragement in what they go through.We encourage them and help them to keep trusting in God through the word of God.We provide them food,clothes and Medical care costs.
Rural women empowerment program
We support women in the rural areas and equip them with skills to fight against poverty and become supportive to their families through small projects like breeding rabbits, goats, farming and other income generating projects.
Like many other African societies, women are undervalued but we want to value them and help them work together with their husbands for the wellbeing of their families as we know that a family is a unit of change and transformation of the Community, if a family is transformed, a community will also be transformed but if the family is broke, the community will also be broke.
Some of the projects: Goats and Rabbits breeding, farming, Savings groups.
EVANGELISM AND DISCIPLeship
Through this program we reach the unreached with the gospel and make disciples by fulfilling the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus ChristWe organize outreaches,crusades,street and door to door Evangelism.
Christ is the center of everything we do so we reach people with gospel through door to door or open-air evangelism. Yes, we help people in their poverty and suffering, but we know that they also need the Savior Jesus Christ before any other thing. We partner with local churches.

Noe Bakuza
Our Founder and President
After spending six months in Mission and Evangelism training at Presbyterian University of East Africa in Kenya Noe BAKUZA had a vision to found the United Youth for Development/U.Y.D Burundi and since we are living in a community where people are suffering from poverty,Hunger, Joblessness....and other natural disasters consequences, he dreamt about bringing change in Communities through people's lives transformation led by love and bring hope to the Hopeless.Noe Has been involved into various ministries before founding UYD and this was an advantage for Him.He is passionate about serving God and his People.He has a bachelor degree in Health Public Sciences / Nurse and a certificate in Mission and Evangelism.
Noe has a call to serve God's people and he is a friend of Children.He is also a a former Youth leader at Evangelical Church of Central Africa and Chair man of Evangelism Department at the same Church.
Looking for partnership and mentorship from various Servants of God,Noe is an ordained minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to the principles of scriptures by Leaders Network International,a global leaders network based in Australia.
Lucien Garukugabane
Volunteer
Experienced, trustworthyAs a former Sunday School teacher , Lucien has gained the experience of working with Youth and serving God's people.He has led various youth ministries and runned some courses for Young and Adults .We salute his zeal and commitment for the growing of our Organisation.Lucien has a bachelor degree in Health sciences/Nurse and he uses the skills to help people.
Vianney Mpawenimana
Volunteer
Vianney is a former beneficiary of our scholarship program in the past few years ,he benefited school supplies through our All at school Program.He is one of the people who can testify how the UYD work has great impact in their lives.He was desperate how to proceed with his studies but with some support from UYD and other people he was able to graduate from High School and got a certificate.Vianney is dedicated to serve people and caring for the needy. He has joined our team so that with his God given talent he can contribute to the reaching and fulfillment of our Vision and Mission.
Oscar Nibigira
Volunteer and Coordinator of UYD Activities in Bubanza
Oscar was born and raised in a rural area.Considering the misery and struggles that people from rural areas pass through, He dedicated his life to serve his community.Oscar's vision is to serve people and surround himself with people that he would have helped to change and improve the way of living.Oscar has been involved in various works in their Church and he has occupied some leadership positions.Oscar has involved in Sunday school activities for many years and he is now serving as the National Director of children Department at Evangelical Church of Central Africa, Secretary of the Parish Session and the Chairman Assistant of the Gatura Village local Church.
At UYD Oscar is someone very special and he is serving as our Ambassador, He really is contributing to our organisation growth and uses his God given talents to coordinate our activities in their village.We salute his zeal,impact and influence both in the church, our organisation and the Community.
Tantine Ntirampeba
Intercessor
Married to Noe Bakuza in December 2022 Tantine joined the team as an intercessor , she has been involved in various church activities and she supported our works even when she was single.Tantine has a passion to serve people and help those suffering or struggling.As an intercessor she spent some time praying for all our programs and the people we're serving.
